Hey guys. I'm Tim and I'm from Illinois. I am the proud owner of a 1990 I/O voyager. I had no idea the following this brand has. It's like muscle cars, so I'm all in. This seemed like the right place to get some info about the boat. I've been reading a lot about them, and I can't hardly find I/O hydrostreams mentioned anywhere. Does anyone here know some info: how many were made, if it's rare, what it is worth, etc. Any help is much appreciated.
Just found out I can't post pictures bigger than 1mb. I'm on my phone now so I can't do much about it, but I promise I will deliver soon.

Welcome aboard! If you have any question just ask and im sure myself or someone else will be happy to help.

As for the I/O, hydrostream did make some but the numbers were pretty low. Off hand im not sure on the numbers but they werent very high. Every once and a great while one will pop up. I think your about the third or fourth person now that I have seen with one. Would love to see some pictures of it.

As for the image size restriction, I will be upping that a bit but a lot of members are on mobile devices so if there is a lot of images in a topic it can take a really long time for the site to load with such large images so to keep things moving as fast as possible we try to keep the file sizes down on the images. You could try reducing the megapixles on your camera on your phone and try that.

Thanks for the welcome and quick reply. I forgot to add is a tune port injected 350. My dad owned the boat a few years back and we clocked it with a gps at 82. Granted that was a while ago and it has since sat unused for ~2 years until this summer when I started trying to get all the kinks ironed out.

That is very cool!!! I'd love to see some transom/ outdrive shots, see how they set these up from the factory as far as prop height is concerned. With a TPI 350 to boot?? Nice, lots of power upgrades available!!

Welcome! Nice looking rig, thru exhaust, me like.

It's fairly well known that the Voyager deck is dimensioned the same as Vegas, Vulture etc. They were mated with the V-pad and XT hull. But the IO's used a deeper hull called the XL. It looked like the XT in the front and the pad-V in back (no tunnels). Maybe the extra depth was to keep the motor cover lower than the windshield. :) I've also seen the XL with the bass rig deck.

Well, that's all I know.....hope someone will shed more light. Welcome.

I've never seen a lower unit with this water pickup. Makes it impossible to use water muffs.

Not to be difficult, but where is the prop shaft in relation to the pad? How much hp is the TPI running? How much trim to fly it? I'm very interested on how these run compared to an outboard model. 82mph is very respectable!

Sorry, but I'm still learning boater lingo. I'm very familiar with car engine and components, but up until this spring I've never worked on a boat. Prop shaft in relation to the pad? What is the pad? Also what does fly it mean? Getting it on plane? Also it's 320 hp. It's the same motor corvettes ran in 90, even has corvette flags on the intake. Tomorrow I'll post motor pics if you guys would like.

The pad is the flat surface at the bottom of the hull. It's the running surface of these Hydrostreams. Being a v-pad hull, instead of coming to a point at the bottom, as a typical v hull would, there's a flat bottom, called a pad, that runs on the water's surface. Running on the pad is what I mean by flying it. With an outboard model, you can run these hulls on the very rear of the pad, with only a paper towel sized section of the hull touching the water. I'm wondering if the io model is set up to run similarly. By the pics you posted, it looks like the prop shaft is still well below the pad. That's why I was wondering what your trim angle was at top speeds. I guess ultimately I would like to see a video of this thing running balls out. You don't see many of them, and I think you're the only one I've seen contributing to an open forum! Welcome to the site btw, hope you stick around, I really like this boat!!
