Welcome to the forums.
Standard balsa core is 1/2". Only one layer.
There's lots of threads here that show how to properly re-core your Stream. So grab a beer, or two, or three, and read read read.

The core is bad but the transom seems solid I did the hammer trick all around it sound solid how can I be sure it doesn't have a motor so lm thinking around 175 200 hp. I don't to cut into the transom if I don't have to

Why leave it to chance? Just replace the core stringers and transom, then you'll know it's solid.
