If you dont plan to go bigger for a bit, you can make that thing run out pretty good. First thing, get that motor up in the air more. That jack plate will bring that boat to life. If you need to get it higher without a cone, you can always block/plug the top two holes on your water intake to avoid sucking air. Once you get the motor set up right, you will be amazed at what that little V4 will do on these hulls. Of course a v6 will really get ya moving.

Jack plate in the process of going on (need to hurry up for weekend). Also, didn't want to dump a ton on a prop until I figure out the right pitch. Grabbed a used refurbished aluminum off eBay 13x23. Currently came with a 13x19. Should bring it up a bit in speed and rpm's. When I find I sweet spot, buy a nice stainless.

Hope a 24 or 25 pitch wasn't the sweet spot. But seemed real hard to find them in a 13x

Ugh..... I called the shop, seems my cables for steering are 13 feet long. I need 15 feet long for the plate. Rather then half *** it for the time being with used, I'm gonna wait for good ones. ****... well, good news is I bumped into a guy with an early 80's vector. I am taking tomorrow off from work and we are hitting the lake. Looking forward to runnning with another stream!

You shouldnt need cables 2 feet longer when going to a 4 inch plate. You going to have a lot of extra cable I would think.

At only 13 feet on a Vector, im assuming you cables are pretty tight now? Most Vectors have 14 foor cables factory if I remember right ans should be enough if even adding the 4" plate. Then again, what do I know, I have never rigged a Vector (yet...). lol

 Correct. Cables are very tight at 13 feet. (Probably the start of the issue) the plate, remember, is a 6 inch set back TH marine hi-jacker. I dunno, might be to much set back but can't be worse then what I'm dealing with now...

My trial aluminum 13x23 prop isn't here yet, was really hoping to try it. Oh well, just getting wet will be awsome. I'll get some pics of the vectors together today for sure. Also heard there was a river called "dead river" we can headway speed drive up! Might be a cool nature drive with a pair of streams. I'll keep ya posted.
