Thanks guys!! Hippie,.... You see in the before picture, the dash was broken. I didn't want to drill any more holes in the dash than needed. My fiberglass mentor, Gerald Gangle, came up with the jetboat gauge pod idea. The gauge face is shadowed by the windscreen so no glare and you can keep your eyes where they need to be. I got the gauges with the curved glass faces for less chances of glare. At the speeds this thing runs, it was important to not have to turn your head to check your gauges. I'm glad you noticed.

Not trying to de-rail this thread. I have a 73 im almost finished with. What kind of speeds and how was the handling with that setup. I'm leaning towards something similar. You can find all kind of info on the later style bottoms but not much on the viper and vector 1's. Thanks

Mine rides like it's on rails. At the speeds I'm going, I should be using a Cleaver prop. I only have an ET so I only do high speed runs with my wife. Boat's too flighty solo. Set-up is everything. My bottom is true and all edges are crisp, The last 2' is sanded length ways with 600 grit , Solid mounts, SeaStar PRO hyd steering, Battery in left outer wing, and so on,,,,,, This stuff is important on how the boat performs.

This is one of my favorite pictures . Click the + in the upper left corner to go full screen.
