1977 viper recore

Restoring your Hydrostream or just giving it a small makeover? What better place than to show off your project. Big or small.

I keep changing my mind on color too. Leave it yellow or go with something else? I still have lots of time to keep changing my mind though. Bill

Mine is staying white and will look like a rat rod for a year or 2 im sure. I just want to get it on the water right now so the core and transom will get done, hang motor, rig with some new stuff, and go make waves. :D

Once I get the $$ to do the paint work and stuff Im thinking a crazy metal flake green or blue or both. :D

Well I had one of our body shops we deal with give me a estimate to paint the top of the viper today and it looks like I'm doing it myself. They wanted a minimum of $3000 but most likely 4500. Another option is a vinyl wrap, a couple of our customers have had wraps put on but I don't know about the cost.
At this time I'm just going to finish rigging it and win any ugly contest I enter.

I tried to work on this thing 3 different saturdays at work but didn't get anything done and caused a bunch of headaches and bitching so i brought it home.

I got the hot foot and control box in and started to get my digitron installed. My seat is done but our vinyl guy hasn't brought it in yet.

After getting 2 estimates for paint I got the idea of a vinyl wrap. I'm looking into that but when I was trying to think of a cool design someone said it would look cool in carbon fiber so I'm calling express and talking to them about doing a layer of carbon over the gell. It won't be perfect but it's just too ugly to look at now.

I have a very good friend that might be able to do the wrap for ya on the cheap. I cant do wraps but he has the equipment to do them. I will talk to him and see if he can do it. I know he does a lot of ATVs and dirt bikes and some other stuff so I don't think a boat should be to tough. I will find out for ya.

That would be great Kevin!
I have also decided to run the 200 mariner on the viper, the 2.5 is turning into a monster. I just got my acu to go with the svs. Once I sell my ficht the block will be going to Ruck for some lovin and a Nitrox system will be coming my way.
