Yeah illinois law says vessels under 20ft need floatation foam. I'd rather leave it out personally. Idk the stuff is so expensive and trying to make new boxes

Wouldn't it also state the boat can't be overpowered? I'm not going to propose you break the law.... But how many marine cops are lying on the floor poking around for float boxes?? They just want to make sure you have safety gear and no alcohol....

Yeah they weird around here bunch of barney fifes. They go undercover at the local sand bar on a pontoon. Snoop around and socialize then have the other boat down river waiting to get radioed in.
