Re: Viper rebuild
Thanks for the kind words. I have been putting in quite a few hours getting all of the "chassis" works roughed in. The bulkheads for the seats, battery, shifter are now glassed in. Working on the foot throttle and gas tank mounts now. When they are all glassed in, the old hull/skin will have great linear and lateral support.

Re: Viper rebuild
Some pics of the bulkheads and mounts as there being glassed in. I decided to box in the center set of stringers in front of the seat areas because at only 5.5" i.d., I had visions of getting a foot in there about the time you lost balance and...snap goes the ankle. It will also help triangulate the pad area and i'll keep that beautiful wood grain showing on top.

Re: Viper rebuild
The deck was set back on to check for foot throttle and foot pad placement before glassing them in. Now that the seat bulkheads are in place, rigging mock-up can get started. The way that the throttle and support are set up now, feels real comfortable when at the helm......real comfortable!

Re: Viper rebuild
Set up dual tanks so the capacity could be 12 gallons. Both 6 gallon tanks will be plumbed into a central fuel rail that will feed the Merc. The fuel rail will be centrally mounted below the height of the tank pickups, allowing the two tanks to hopefully self level.

Re: Viper rebuild
Battery fits nice behind the rear seat and the terminals are under the splashwell. The rear seat will be hinged at the front so it can be tilted forward, to access the battery and bilge.
