got the rest of the core sealed up. and ran out of resin. more money needed :( and running low on glass. should have ordered 10 gallons of resin + hardener the first time. question for you guys, is a 6 inch tall stringer enough for the center and outer stringers for a non floored boat?

looks very nice. i never get tired of the look of fresh clean dry balsa, glassed over nicely like that.

say, i haven't read the whole thread, but what did you bed the balsa core into? did you mix up some kind of paste?

also, since the last post was just before summer, did you manage to get out on the lake with her?

mixed resin and cabosil until it was a good viscosity to spread with a tile trowel. then i laid the balsa on top and pushed it down until it stuck well and flat. then glassed over the top later. the balsa really soaked up resin on the top, hopefully the bottom got enough to bond well.. I need more resin and motivation to lay in stringers.. finally got myself back to work the last few months, should be back into the project soon. still haven't driven it :( glad someone posted here though, thank you for that.. I needed someone in my ear reminding me what i have in the yard

Got my new(to me) power-plant today. She will get new water pump and thermostats.. might fill top holes on the gear case.. not sure yet. I need solid mounts, controls, and steering for it. If you have a lead on that stuff please contact me here.

Nice choice of motor, it'll be quick!

Does it have water pickups at the prop shaft too?
