Re: Flat splashwell
this might give you some ideas too. i used balsa core so its strong with minimal matt and light. after making a sheet of balsa with matt on both sides i let it set up then cut to fit the splash well. tabbed it in with a piece of half round at front lip.

Re: Flat splashwell
Thank you 77viper...
YDOC462 Could I use plywood or birch for that panel? Also how did you reform the gunnel area? I am a real newbie at glass work so hope these don't seem like dumb questions.

Re: Flat splashwell
I will have pictures of mine in a few weeks hopefully as well.
You could do like Chet did and just stick a bunch of 1708 together to get a good strong thickness. And plus the transom knees that myself and others have added will help support any weight a well too.

i just had some extra core laying around i figured id try. on the sides i cut strips of 1708 about 6 inches wide. filled the void with cabisol and layed the 1708 over that trying to make a nice transition. needless to say i had some body work to do
no worries, no dumb questions here, coming from the village idiot
