Had dual ride guide on my ‘77 Viper

Have questions about setting up your boat? Engine height, setback, prop, etc.

Had dual ride guide on my ‘77 Viper

Post: # 23886Post pcrussell50 »

But the cables got so stiff it drove me crazy. And replacement cables were expensive and hard to find. So I bit the bullet, pulled all the Ride Guide gear, and replaced with a Teleflex dual cable and rack system that I got lightly used from a guy on SnF. The Teleflex system is NFB, so it doesn’t have the feedback feel that DRG had. But it’s smooth and easy to turn around the docks, and with a mostly stock bubble back v4, topping out in the low-mid 50’s, it’s not hard to control at all. Now, I have a 2.0 v6 that I’m using on another boat. Once my girls grow up, I’ll rob that v6 from that boat and put it on my Viper.
