Don't ever 'grease' the cables, that is what causes them to seize. If you haven't already, read up on T-Rex's steering cable luber. It works like a charm.
I have used a full synthetic 10w-30 with great success.
Wondering how to post images or maybe change your avatar or maybe something else?

Re: plaining foils
What about the allison skid planer? Does anyone have experiance with them? [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://www.hydrostreamforums.com/images/mobile.png I've run a flat laser cut foil similar to the allison one and it is hands down the best 'bang for the buck' mod I've ever run. This year I ma...

Re: gel coat or auto paint
I am no expert but I know the following: When you said gel requires "a lil more sanding and buffing to shine it up" what you should have said was " a metric sh!t ton more sanding and buffing to shine up" lol other then that Gel will hold up better in the water where as paint wil ...

Re: John Spaeth Vking
A few more of the same boat.
The deck was built brand new a few years ago, new core, floor, transom, allison seats, livorsi gauges ect.
There's a good shot of it in this thread

Re: John Spaeth Vking
If you are actually interested in a Spaeth built boat this one is still for sale.
I know Andrew wants it gone so I am sure he would work with you on price.
Andrew helped build the above V-King as well when it was at Speaths.

Skid Planer
Thanks. Anyone have experience with skid planers??? I started building one for the bottom of the jackplate. Im going to put it almost level with the transom notch. Hopefully this will help keep the arse from digging in and let me start with more neutral trim. I'm a little scared to try it out but th...

Re: V-King Drag Race
I'm wondering if a prop with a bit more lift like the et will help hold the bow at the start. The hop is what I'd like to solve.
I can't wait to see how your V-king turns out!

V-King Drag Race
So I ran my first drag race a few weeks ago and had a ton of fun. I've been borrowing a 22" Yammy Drag and love the way it hooks up but I have to give it back :( Just wondering if any of you guys have had any luck with other props? I've got a 22" Hoss that I am going to try but would love ...

Re: 1986 HYDROSTREAM V KING YT
I would strongly suggest getting a second opinion from someone more familiar with these boats. A buddy of mine checked that boat once before and found the core was soft so unless its been replaced in the last few years... It's a beautiful boat that you plan on keeping. That extra piece of mind is mo...
