V-King Windshield

I am having difficulty separating the polycarbonate from the hoop.
It is tightly pinched.
Anyone know any tricks to get the hoop off the windscreen?

Re: Faster Prop for V-King

I see a Mercury Tesmpest plus prop for sale in my area.
It is 14.625 X 27 pitch.
The current prop is 13.25 X 23 pitch.
Is this too much prop? The larger diameter concerns me.

Re: Look what I found

Another half dozen holes on the starboard side. Thought I would show the putty work. It looks like some broke off.
I saw a boat recently that had carriage bolts through the hull to mount the hot foot. Pretty crude.

Look what I found

I am replacing the core and stringers on my V-King. After the floor was out I noticed a shiny silver dot in the fibreglass. It was metal. It was located near the edge of the floor, in the part of the hull that the floor bonds too. I chose to ignore it for about a month. Today I had a burst of ambiti...

Re: V-King Fuel Tank

Thanks again. Tony's build is my reference for everything. He did such a great job on the build and the documention. On Tony's, the fuel tank is notched to fit over the knee braces. I couldn't find a picture of his tank installed, but it appears that it would cover the sump. As you said, it only tak...

Re: V-King Fuel Tank

Thanks. The static weight explanation makes allot of sense. The pictures are great. Interesting fuel tank. Mine is rectangular. 28" x 16" X 10"h. It appears that the sump location on the V-King is not the same as the Vulture. The V-King's sump is about 6" forward of the transom a...

Re: V-King Fuel Tank

I saw somewhere that it is "stupid" to put the fuel tank in the front. A little harsh, but his opinion was clear. He didn't give any reasons. What is the prevailing theory? Maybe put it in the front if you have a big heavy 4 stroke on the back? I will be sticking with 2 stroke for as long ...

V-King Fuel Tank

My V-King came with the fuel tank in the front. There is evidence it was once in the back. I suspect it was moved to the front when the the boat was repowered to a Yamaha. The Yami included an oil tank and a hydraulic jack plate with a remote pump and reservoir. In short, I don't think it fit in the...

Faster Prop for V-King

Sometime in the past my V-King was repowered with a 200 Yami. The Yami was previously on a grew 186, not a race boat. So the current prop is a high five 13.25" -23P. As you would expect, the holeshot is awesome, but the top end isn't. The boat has a hydraulic jackplate (5.5" offset), but n...
