I’m finishing the resto on my 1980 v-king and looking at power options. I’m considering a 2016 Merc pro xs 250 20” mid. Looking for some opinions on this motor. Mainly regarding weight.

Re: 1980 V-King restoration
Thanks again for the info. I contacted them and they say they cannot make my windshield. They said they do not do windshields that go into a frame so I'm going with UPD. Do you know which tint was typically used by Hydrostream? It looks like the medium smoke or dark smoke is what I've seen in pictur...

Re: 1980 V-King restoration
Checking back to see if you found the windshield contact info. If not, I can go with UPD. They look to be great replacements.
Thanks.

Re: 1980 V-King restoration
Thanks again...UPD cost is $450 so if you have a source that cost almost half, I’m in. Always looking to save a few bucks.

Re: 1980 V-King restoration
Here’s a couple more before we started resto. Deck is all back together now and we are close to paint. I’ll post some updated pics soon. Re: 1980 V-King restoration
Thanks again for all the input. I found the Blue flake that looks really close to original. It’s the Western Blue .025 square flake from vintage paint. Great tip thanks! I’m now ordering my windshield. I have the frame but windshield is cut due to crack. I found what looks to be an exact replacement...

Thanks, for the info. I'll post some pics soon. Will also have additional questions once the shop is done with fiberglass and I start the mechanics.

1980 V-King restoration
Hello- I am restoring a 1980 V-King. I am doing the mechanical stuff myself and having the hull done by a professional. I want to do the bruiser paint scheme and we are having trouble finding the blue metal flake. Everything we have found is small metal flake and the color is too light. My painter m...
