what rpms are you running at 56? i've hit 68 now without chopper. 55 is where mine gets on the pad and is ready to open up. single biggest improvement was wedges (they are cheap) that improved my trim. got to noticing i had a rooster tail until getting on the pad which basically lifts nose and chang...

when you drop throttle quickly, the steering torque reverses. i have voyager with 175, and years back buddy had same with 200 merc. don't really see need for hot foot on your boat, regulat throttle works fine. buddies would hit 77mph, no chine walking or bad habits

surprised more knowledgable folks haven't responded to you. what you are experiencing is normal torque from the propeller. it will change with speed and trim angle. friend and i were playing around at about a 50 mph cruise and could steer the boat left or right with just trim adjustments. a tab on t...

I have a 5in manual jacking plate, and plan to try chopper again a little lower because it just cavitates. might get 200 merc in the spring. would perfer 225 but my rating is 200 and don't like insurance issues. buddy had a voyager with 200 merc and 28 chopper. no jacking plate, no lwp and he did 77...

factory. from what i've read, under 80 ish, nosecones don't help. i keep water pressure at max trim

ok, forget the 25 in shaft, i am a 20in. was mistaken. center of shaft is about 3.5 below pad. playing with props. marginal 14x26 and it ran 56 @5500. new 14.5 x 25 four blade ran 62.2@4700. next prop available is 14 1/8 x 23 4blade will be trying soon.
