Why leave it to chance? Just replace the core stringers and transom, then you'll know it's solid.

Re: Current Options for New Build Hydrostreams
John Spaeth is borderline retired. Not sure if his son Chris will be taking over. AFAIK visits to the shop is by appointment only, but with no email or phone number, you cant make an appointment in the first place. You just gotta be lucky and show up when someone's there.

Re: My 1974 Vector Restoration
You'll need more resin with 5/8ths to ensure sufficient saturation. But stiffness matters. You don't want flexing, especially in the pad. Flex leads to cracks, cracks lead to delamination. Delamination leads to injury and/or death. If you used both, I'd suggest using the 5/8 in the pad and inner hul...

Re: My 1974 Vector Restoration
If you do the core and floor with the cap off and dont support it good, they may not line up when you go to put it back together. Fiberglass likes to hold its shape, and its "flex" is simply gravity. It's not like a brand new, perfectly straight curtain rod that will eventually develop a ...

Re: VIPER Help
What Surface Scratcher above said. Also of extreme importance - has the boat had its core replaced? Hydrostreams are notorious for having rotten balsa cores, and a rotten core plus water-soaked float boxes add hundreds of pounds of weight. ANY new owner of a Stream should make sure the core is bone-...

Re: trim
You can't. Not unless you have a piece you can take to a metal fabrication shop and have them reproduce.
Probably easier to find a long section of rubber edge trim you can find at automotive shops.

Re: The Core... What is it, and where is it at?
I do have photos, but apparently they are too large to attach. [ Post made via iPhone ] https://www.hydrostreamforums.com/ext/sniper/mobiledevice/images/iPhone.png I saw you have a pic up of it on Facebook. It's yellow, right? Can you upload the pics to the Facebook group? I can snag them from ther...
