Re: New kid on the block.
Dont take Pete's comment personally, but I will tell you that what he says is 100% truth....and my boat was a prime example of what appeared to be a well kept original....and it was, but the core was still a mess. If there is rot or water in the core above the floor line, then I will almost promise...

Re: New kid on the block.
Welcome If the small sample you can get with a floor in is bad there's going to be worse someplace. Man I remember when I broke my femur, 6 month's with no weight then another 2 with limited weight. I couldn't work so by the end I had a Mazda be 200 with t tops out of a Daytona and a set of carbs o...

Re: New kid on the block.
If it is not in great shape, IT IS TERRIBLE, there are no in betweens. The boat is dangerous. I didn't think it was terrible however I'm no expert. But like I said I have plans to do it before the summer and boating season comes but a broken femur and not being able to walk has put any of my projec...

Re: New kid on the block.
definitely something to look into. Ive seen pics of a stream that fell apart at highspeed. It looked like someone took a sawzall to the hull. I believe I have seen the pics you are talking about or at least ones similar to it, it looks like the boat hit a wall and exploded. Thank you for the heads ...

Re: New kid on the block.
I have to ask, do you know if the core has been replaced in that viper? I know its in amazing shape, but I also have seen the core in my boat. It was dirt at this point. Did the previous owner provide pictures of a rebuild? I don't know if the core was replaced at this point I'm assuming it needs t...

New kid on the block.
Hey guys I just wanted to introduce myself, My name is James from new jersey I'm 19 years old and about halfway through last summer I bought myself a viper. I have always been around boats since I was little. My family used to be into big boats such as our 41 silverton, until we moved to a lake we s...

Re: New to hydrostreams
Depends on the prop and how much load you're carrying. Hydraulic plates are heavy, getting weight off the back will help the boat plus manual plates are stiffer which helps high speed handling. Oh also I forgot to ask, It says it has a 6 degree wedge, would that be beneficial to run with the wedge ...

Re: New to hydrostreams
I like less, but some guys get good results with up to 5". I like the Bob's convertible plate with 2 1/2" setback. Thats a manual jackplate correct? How would coming up on plane be with that, since with the hydraulic i was able to put the motor down to plane the boat out Im afraid it woul...
