Ya Jeff, I have the 170 and in the allison seat it just isn't comfortable for a day on the lake and like I said I found myself not wearing it so I bought the Stearns. The lifeline is a much better jacket as far as safety is concerned but it does no good folded over the back of the seat.

The stearns Trophy is the model

Kevin if the one you wore last fall felt good I will sell it to you, I bought it then found it was to big for me.

When I talked to Kent @ Lifeline in late 2008, he hooked me up with a 160 starter/recreational jacket for around $285$295 shipped if I remember right....that was when they were advertising the S&F discount. The 160 is nowhere near as bulky as the 170 comp vests but doesn't have as much impact material or as tall of a collar.

I wear mine whenever I'm in the boat and will be buying another this year (I hope) for me and donating my "old" 160 to her. I'm used to it now so wearing it all the time isn't so much a factor anymore.

Chet, What did you pay for the Sterns? I know some of the lifelines can be a spendy and I dont have that kind of money but I still want to be able to afford one that will keep me safe. :D
