Boy I was worried about exceeding the tongue weight,I am putting a class 1 hitch on my sl500,which my maximum trailer weight is 2000 lbs and my maximum tongue weight allowable is 200 lbs,I am guessing the total weight of boat ,v6 motor, and trailer to be 1600 lbs,I really appreciate your input on this,The trailer is a single axle bunk trailer made by load rite trailers, originally boat and trailer came from michigan,So am i safe to say the total weight is around 1600 lbs?Thanx speedmaster2

There isn't any way to tell for sure not knowing there the axle is under the boat. Your best bet is to get a scale or just lift it and guess.

I have had to move the axle back on both my vegas due to the jack plate and my viper due to the v6.

My Vulture pulls super nice but it also does not have a motor right now so we will have to see how it does once I hang some power on it. Just might have to add some tongue weight also but I hope not.

Are you talking tow weight, or downforce on the tongue? If you're worried, get a couple of guys in the back of the till the tongue comes up. With the Viking and v6 looper, I have to ADD weight to the front of the trailer just to have any tongue weight. I used a shot looper crank and my spare trailer tire, not pretty, but effective.
