A quick update for you guys...the transom knees are glassed in place, the bilge is now painted in white BilgeKote, the Panther 4" setback brackets are installed with Bob's Machine Shop alluminum backing plates. My 8" Detwiler Jackplate will be mounted this weekend. Livorsi gages will arrive this week also!

My new transom knees are finished and ready to be bonded to the transom, topdeck and center pod :D . The old knees were only 1/4" ply :o ...my new knees are 24lb density, 1 1/2" Coosa board. With 2 layers of 1708 Biax/Epoxy resin the new knees are 1 3/4" thick  !! I won't be worrying about the transom after this mod!! Pictures are up on ScreamandFly..

Sounds like a good plan. I will check out your other thread when I get in from the shop.

AE-21 Demolition and Resurection

Here's a Screamandfly thread with pictures for those of you that want to keep up with my AE-21 project. At this point, the hull has been high speed wheeled with 3M finess bringing back most of the shine. The fuel tank and fittings on the tansom have been removed. The rear topdeck coring ply has been ripped out and the old transom knees have been ground away. I've got a little bit of sanding/grinding to do before I begin the carpentry on the new transom knees and rear topdeck braces. Once the transom is finished I'll be installing Panter 4" setback brackets, a Detwiler 8" All In One hyd. jackplate, and Bob's Machine Shop backing plates for the inside of the transom. The bilge will be sprayed with white bedliner for a clean finished look!!
