Now I watch videos and all I can say and see that's very awesome experience . just sweet !
not trying to hijac this topic but my prop is blue printed for my enigne for the prop slip with no jac plate 6'' setback enigne mouted soild and I just learn from watching the videos I'm using to much trim ,I have 5 people in my Vegas and I'm getting 65 mph with big roost about 10 to 15 feet above the enigne .I now know I'm pulling the motor out to muchmaybe to fast to at that. I need to get out in my Vegas by my self because the old owner said that when the boat gets to 80 mph its chimes and to just keep it going and it will stop chiming at 82 mph but it scares the hell out of me I've had the boat 4 years now and need to watch the rpms to see when the prop stops sliping to get the motor in it power range .

Being a witness, and a passenger, in Chets Viper, I can say that that if his boat is not on the pad it is just floating in the lake. There is no middle ground with that thing. Weather he is doing 20mph or 90mph it always seems to be on the pad. Then again, He can drive the snot out of that thing so could be a lot to do with the driver.

Here is some more video I did of him and Scott out tuning there boats one day.

If you are shooting a rooster tail taller than the motor once it takes a set you are using too much trim.

This pass was just shy of 100, 98 I think.

Yea Chet, you're right. Looks like 8%. Looking at the roostertail, might have been a little higher than 3/4" above the pad.
Looks more like a jetboat.

It looks like your prop slip #'s are a little high http://www.mercuryracing.com/propellers/propslipcalculator.php

30 is kind of high for timing, I run 25

Is the core good? The bottom can be warping at speed causing a hook.
do you know what the boat weighs?
I would try any prop I could get my hands on.
