I dont have a viper so I cant say for sure but maybe Jeff or Chet or someone else will chime in on this one but I do tend to see most people having good luck with about a 4 inch set back on the vipers.

I have a 76 Viper with a 115 merc inline. I have to replace the core, floor and transom. After I get this done what would be a good jackplate to run? I eventually want to put a 150 on the boat. It has a jackplate now but its junk. What is a good setback? I wanted to go with a manual plate. Thanks
