My 235 is also an 85 but mine has the factory off shore mid on it so it will be a noisy one. :up: :mrgreen:

ok thats great info although my evinrude will only turn 6500 rpm its old year 1985 really just a big fishin motor. ha ha .gary

yea if u leave popit out and put washers in the heads and just start out with small holes and start working ur way up it will get hotter running in the water carrying aload of coarse so just keep tuning it in till u reach a good temp all around i got 5/16 washer holes in mine with no poput spring at 8 grand around 155-160 temp

well i tryed it with out pop it springs out it ran too cold i ran for 15min drawing the pump water out of a 5 gal bucket to the nose cone 5/8 fitting with extended hose , electronic gun said 110 f. i put the springs back in, thanks for the pointer. gary

if ull just take the spring off the poppet it will build slightly more pressure with good flow

yess it will but u need to keep temps around 130-155 anything below 130 can cold seize just as fast as being to hot i been running my mercury around 140-160 good temps

will the motor get more flow run cooler with the thermostat and popits removed. g-p
